Advent Conspiracy is a global movement of people and churches resisting the cultural Christmas narrative of consumption by choosing a revolutionary Christmas through Worshipping Fully, Spending Less, Giving More and Loving All. This year, Christ’s Center will be participating by giving to two ministries who serve the poor and marginalized in and around Junction City.
Love for Lane County
“Love for Lane County is committed to providing a holistic response to unmet needs through active faith. Our primary focus is to offer short-term practical, hands-on assistance for those who are in desperate need in our community and have nowhere else to turn. We provide “gap services” to meet the needs of our community, providing services and support that other agencies may be unable to offer.” (From the Love For Lane County Website.)
We love this ministry. For years we have partnered with them, both as a congregation, and through individual members of our congregation, who have given generously with both their time and their finances.
Junction City Local Aid
JCLA provides basic needs assistance and economic relief to people living in the Junction City School District and the Junction City area of rural Lane County. This includes food, utility and energy assistance, prescription/medical assistance, transportation assistance, clothing, and serves as a referral source for area resources.
